Christmas is the most wonderful time of year, as every one is joyous and giving. For San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles residents, events are available to join in all the Christmas fun and get in the Holiday spirit. Los Angeles events offer something for everyone all throughout the month of the December.

Los Angeles Events to Celebrate the Holidays

Outdoor ice skating for Los Angeles events as become a winter tradition for many families. There are many ice skating venues spread across the LA Basin into the Valley. Outdoor rinks stay frozen during warm LA winters because of advanced technology. Families can enjoy ice skating all the way through February.

As a Christmas classic The Nutcracker Ballet is a must-see play. This ballet is showing in multiple theaters throughout LA and neighboring cities. The Irvine Barclay Theatre in Irvine is showing through December 24 by the Festival Ballet Theatre. The Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center will host Los Angeles Ballet’s Nutcracker from December 27-28. There are also several other Los Angeles events for other classic plays such as A Christmas Carol.

Christmas at Disneyland is one of LA’s most enchanting holiday traditions. The whole park of Disney is Christmas themed with all the characters dressed in holiday attire walking around a winter wonderland. What could be more fun than your favorite characters and the joy of the Holidays? The parade shows, fireworks, and children activities are all Christmas themed to encourage the Holiday spirit. Disneyland is themed like this through the first weekend in January.

Another LA tradition and one of the most favorite of Los Angeles events during the holidays is Grinchmas at Universal Studios Hollywood. The park is decorated like Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas with its giant crooked Christmas tree and Whos of Who-ville scurrying about. Kids can take pictures with various Who characters and read Christmas stories with Cindy-Lou Who. This year Grinchmas runs daily December 20 to January 3.

Another popular amusement park in the LA area is Knott’s Berry Farm, which hosts Knott’s Merry Farm: A Charlie Brown Christmas. The park is decorated with holiday lights, carolers and holly. Residents can hang out with the Peanuts gang and celebrate Christmas in a jubilant way. Six Flags Magic Mountain has also joined in on the festivities for the first time.
