Affordable Housing Proposed in North Hills

A proposed project in North Hills filed June 27 with Los Angeles Department of City Planning would bring 54 units to the neighborhood, per an Urbanize.LA report.

The 8547-8549 N. Sepulveda Boulevard proposal would mean razing the existing 1930s-era single-story building on the parcel to clear the way for a four-story affordable housing complex geared to low- and extremely low-income households.

Requested entitlements include a density bonus allowing for no on-site parking.

Property records list the owner of the roughly half-acre site as Angel 2018, an organization affiliated with L.A. Family Housing, which develops affordable and permanent supportive units throughout the city. The nonprofit recently announced the completion of a $52-million supportive housing campus in Sun Valley.
