To help businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, Los Angeles County on Monday announced it will launch a $500,000 fund for grants to companies with two to 50 full-time employees.
Called the Employer Assistance Grant Fund, the state-funded program is the result of a collaboration between the L.A. County Board of Supervisors, Department of Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services and the California Employment Development Department.
The maximum amount a company can get is $10,000; applications will be available online starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday and be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 150 applications will be accepted.
The Workforce Development Economic and Business Development team will host a webinar to review company eligibility and application requirements from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“The coronavirus pandemic has impacted residents and businesses throughout Los Angeles County,” L.A. County Supervisor Kathryn Barger said in a statement. “It is vitally important that we pursue every resource available to support local business and help maintain good job opportunities throughout the region.”
